Enterprise D Saucer Deflector

Postby marcnoonan » Sun Nov 12, 2017 8:28 pm

Hi Peeps,

I was given a rough sketch and asked to add a saucer deflector to the Ent-D, after a lot of trial, resulting in mostly error.

Interesting. You went add on instead of bury. It would make putting it on easier.

I think it's buried .

You can see the edge of the hull . Quite an optical illusion though .

Very nice btw .

Yep,

It's fully recessed into the hull, the 3D Shapeways link shows it off better, along with the Aeroshuttle swap and I think it should be the Enterprise "Double D"....having 2 deflectors of course 8-)

Here's the rest, or one of the 4 variants I've done anyway.

awesome stuff, so, like a Voyager style deflector for the Saucer-Sep section,
and maybe a different topology for the stardrive section.
I'm partial to the Probert concept C/D and the Future D, or the Chariot-Class Atolm stardrive (front end at least).

integral 'defiant-style'/'prometheus A section" nacelles,
and that'd be a nice refit saucer.
I'm tempted to refit the Nebula class I've got partially underway in 1:2500
(I've got the nebula and a few Oberths underway hehe)
as this saucer would make for an awesome Chariot-Nebula testbed. :D
EDIT: this'd be great for Geordi's "USS Challenger" Nebula variant.
and for USS Triumphant.

can we have a sievert-slice/ conic segment truncated shaped 'parametric deflector"?
I just wonder what a more prominent and weird-curvature looks like for the saucer-dish.

Thanks guys,

IOther swaps were the Voyager lifeboats, Voyager RCS thrusters and the Aeroshuttle and you'll be happy to hear Koba that I'll be giving this the fully detailed treatment in the near future.

It's an Aquarius-class escort ship and if USS Odyssey is 1062m then it's just shy of the Defiant size at 118.16m.,,,if you like the 120m version.

Works perfectly in 2500
