Tholian Battlecruiser

Postby mophius » Thu Sep 21, 2017 10:26 pm

Well I had better start its own thread as it is nearly finished.

I have given it a third light coat of silver which did make a difference in the trenches. Also did some detailing with yellow exhaust ports, red running lights (I will presume) and the blue cooling grills. Also did some blue on the top most bobble on the fins as they looked odd blank.

Only thing that I would like to do now is some dark wash to fill the panel lines.

Congrats, I believe you are the first person to build & almost complete this kit in 2500! Looks very nice, and I agree that a wash is going to make the details pop

Ooooh, I like! A different base color than I plan to go with for my 1k build.

I like this. I think I can make it. Well, similar stuff. Nice work. Can't wait to see the wash.

Nicely done. The added color details make the design look more complete. :)

First picture is the underside and the one I did first. I was a bit too heavy on the wash. :(

Coming right along! I think it looks fine, even if you think the ventral wash is too heavy.

'Minds me - I need to clean up my 1/1000 version and look at colors to use on it.

Thanks Griff. Problem with the ventral is now its dry it is not going to come off. Only way around it would be to start over and I am not going that route again. *cough*Reliant*cough*
