Buy some of the black straight pins that bead collectors use to hold the beads as they thread them.
Each pin is between 3-5" long and has a flat head you can use to mount the model via a drop of super glue.

I use those for 1:2256th Star Wars fighters.

Excellent idea! I’ve been pondering how to go about mounting them.

Any big crafts store will have them for maybe $4 for a dozen or so. I always buy the longest ones I can find- easy to snip them shorter with a sprue cutter if you need.

Here's a 2" Star Wars Dornean Gunships on one of the straight pins- and they're 3D printed, so even on-topic.

You'll have to forgive me. You mentioned this method of display for teeny tiny models before, in one of slawton's 50x50=2500 threads. I even commented on what a cool idea it was.
