USS Sovereign NCC-74222

Postby SKO » Fri Nov 10, 2017 4:26 pm

So in my Enterprise E 2.0 thread I showed my original attempt at the model which had been re-done a few times since my initial clumsy attempt at building it when I was 19. Finally I gave up and started over with a brand new kit.

Buuut...I couldn't let the original just go in the trash so I stripped her back down, putted and repaired her where I could, ordered a set of PNT decals and did my best to rebuild her as the USS Sovereign. My personal head canon for why she looks less advanced than her Aztec'd sister is that the aztecing is actually a kind of armor that was added to later ships of the class after the Defiant's success with ablative armor. The first ship of the class, however, had traditional hull plating and would have to wait for a post-Dominion War refit.

Very Nice! Love the Sovereign class but they can be a pain in the butt to build.

I can't even tell ya how many time those damn pylons have been reattached. Pretty sure the stuff I've got holding them on now was used on the space shuttle

Next time try the StarCraft pylons just make sure you add a brass tube for support, They look ten times better the the kit parts and raze the engines up a little higher, looks far better that way IMO.
