It's my own, so eventually I want to get Shawn "Fuzzy Modem" Weixelman's Frontier class done up. see the image below. But that'll probably have to wait quite a while... :( so I decided to try and make a early TNG version. I guess we can call it the "Proto-Frontier" class. I realized I could approximate it this way. It gave me a chance to mix things up with out completely butchering anything.... I still for the life of me can't scratch build anything.... Anyone near Portland want to show an old man WTF to do?

I've also got my daughter wokring on Crazy Eddies Thufir and Chandley Classes (hoping CE will also give us the mesh for his Audacious Class as I'd live to tweak that just a bit - you can see the 1/2500 hull just above where it says "tools" on the wall...) but the Thufir and Regula 1 are 1/1400 as well.

You've inspired me to tackle this subject in 2500. I ordered a Cheyenne saucer and pylon from OS' defect sale and will combine those with some bits that two good friends shared with me recently.

So, I think I'm going to go minimalist with the aztecing this time... I did it on the New Orleans Class "USS San Francisco"... but I think I'm skipping that this time... (Paul's simple grey/blue looks to good and I'm not THAT good of a painter anyways!).... so I've been dinking around with my registries...

USS Auriga NCC-59881 (Princeton)
USS Blade Runner NCC-62049 (Proto-Nebula)
USS Soyokaze NCC-57575 (Challenger/Buran)
USS Tau’Ri NCC-57344 (springfield)
USS Nostromo NCC-32122 (Firebrand)
USS Rontgen NCC-59811 (Proto-Froniter)
USS Betty NCC-73522 (Cheyenne)

You'll notice quite a few Alien series references... I also have a 1/350 Refit "USS Sulaco" in process... now I just need to get the "base" decals for the 1/1400 TMP styles.... Got a few of those I'll be tackling after these ;)

Hi all, small update about the “Frankenfleet”, I have been messing with different paneling colors for the ships to give them the Aztec look without actually drawing out the arduous Aztecs patterns for every freaking one of these. I also have decided to try and incorporate on each of these one way or another a strong back feature.

The Niagara class USS Auriga’s secondary hull:

The Proto-Nebula class USS Blade Runner’s secondary hull and mission pod:

Unused color pattern for the Challenger class USS Soyokaze:

Here are some overview shots of most of the fleet... at least most of what I have at the moment...

Here are the updated colors and the patterns I’ve been playing with on the Auriga, Soyokaze and the Nostromo (the Freedom class ship)

Looking good. Man I can't imagine balancing that many builds at once. Beautiful stuff

Thanks! As for the balancing act... it's not that bad... I'm horribly slow when working on these, between work, Kids, dogs and the rest of life butting in... so I try and "Cheat"... I base coated all of these at the same time to keep a consistent base coat color, then I choose accent color #1 put that on ALL of these.... (ok I only really have started 4 with this part...) then Accent Color #2... this is where I got distracted and decided hey this looks like an awesome color for a TNG Strongback look too! I'm too lazy to try and do the actual aztecing but I figure this will work nicely! I have added one of CrazyEddies Thufir's to the mix (also a 1/1400 scale). My daughter is (with help from some classmates- and a lot of guidance/harassing from me) working on CE's Thufir to change the saucer to more like the updated artwork... so we'll see if they can do that too!

Got a little more work done today (mostly on the Regula 1 kit)....

But here are the Nostromo and Soyokaze docked at the Abel 31 observation post. The USS Roscoe (Thufir class) pulls away...

and while not quite part of the "Frankenfleet" Paul01 is sending me some additions.... but I'll let him announce them soon :neener:
