So, not to be too spoiler-y, but we've now learned this week that Discovery's crew complement is 134.

In my mind, this should put its size somewhere between the Constitution-class (289 metres, 205 crew (2250s)/430 crew (2260s)) and the Intrepid-class (344 metres, 141 crew).

Although, my suspicion is that — over-long warp nacelles notwithstanding — it will turn out to probably be a bit shorter than the Constitution-class, from fore to aft.

Also, we were apparently treated to a Klingon D-7 battle cruiser this week, but I couldn't get a good enough look at it to see how much they'd f*cked with the design, if at all.
DANGER. SPACE DOORS ARE CLOSED.

"I saw it done on Discovery" is no excuse for anything, even breathing.

The problem with limiting the ship to a maximum of just 344m is the shuttle bay opening. The shuttles we see in ST:D are roughly the same size as those in ST:V. Based off a 1/1000 scale ST:V shuttle and a printed 11.5" / 29.3cm long model of Discovery. This scales out to 295m - just about the same length as TOS Enterprise. The shuttle bay doors aren't large enough to be what we see in the series, as they won't accommodate the ST:V shuttle or a 1k TOS Shuttle.

My guesstimation is that the ship needs to be closer to 380m to 400m-ish.
