This is the CDS Raknev, CUW-7012, lead ship of her class. The design is a kitbash based off and inspired by Mick “Roguewolf” Sinnott using a 1/2500 scale Cardassian Keldon kit. He cut up the main Galor hull and used the parts to build what he ended calling the Raknev-class. You can see pics of his build in his thread right here.
My build is based off of Mick’s with one or two minor changes due to the slight difference in parts owing to the size difference. I used the - allegedly - 1/750 scale Cardassian Galor Class. I cut up the parts as closely as I could to what Mick did with the smaller kit. He didn’t take any pics of the side views of his build, so I improvised a bit by cutting out the side strips - not sure if they’re meant to be sensors or equipment needing to be exposed to space or a combination of the two. I had to use some Evergreen .030” sheet stock for the ventral surface, and so also added various other pieces of Evergreen stock such as 5526 Metal Siding and V-Groove (I forgot which product I used). I also used photorp tubes from a 1/537 scale resin Belknap conversion kit as the forward plasma torpedo tubes, and a smaller version from a similar kit for a single aft plasma torpedo tube, angled slightly upward. I used the wave disruptor parts from the donor kit to give this ship 8 individual emplacements. I also followed Mick’s placement of a shuttle bay on the lower aft hull with Evergreen 4526 Metal Siding, tho also added some to the upper hull just aft of the bridge to act as a larger set of doors to another shuttle bay just aft of the bridge.
Cutting up a built kit gifted to me by a friend.
More cutting and hacking.
Building up supports for the interior.
Lower hull surface of .030” Evergreen stock.
And mostly done!
For my own corner of the Star Trek ‘Verse, I’m using this as a design that started seeing service in the very early 2300’s. It likely was the main ship of the Cardassian military during the Cardassian/Federation War of 2347 to 2366. It was also likely that the class of ships were being phased out just prior to the Dominion War, so we’re relegated to reserve use, tho many were likely being brought out of mothballs to bolster the defenses of Cardassia.
I plan to paint and decal this model very similarly to the Galor and Keldon, and had purchased an extra set of the Galor hull decal sheets for this model.
More to come.

Nice work so far Jeff. Always enjoy a good kitbash! So good to see some love for Cardassian designs.
