None yet...and this is kinda scary, I have never successfully attempted a scratch build before.

Best way to start - jump right in! Trust me, that's how I started.

Same here. I just jumped in. Nowhere near as good as RW, but decent enough

Hey, I'm not bad, but I'm not John Payne tier yet either. But I just started one day, just jumped right in and built myself a shuttlebay for the 1/420 USS Defiant kit. I've learned alot from that one simple project and it encouraged me to try other things. Each atemp, wether it worked or not, gave me more experience and more confidence to try other builds.el gato wrote:Same here. I just jumped in. Nowhere near as good as RW, but decent enough
Scratch building is a labour of love. You just need to take the time (and styrene) and be willing to try your build. There are so many different ways to build, you can build a frame and then sheet over the frame (Personaly I find this method harder - for me anyway) you can build in layers as seen in my nacelle thread build;
https://www.allscaletrek.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=1568
Or a mix of both frame and layer (I prefer this over straight frame). Or to help speed the process along you can kitbash, use an existing model kit part and use styrene to create all the other parts you need, like my Seolkis build, I used three Gundam Shields for my core frame and styrene for everything else;

Don't worry about getting it right or perfect the first time, the important thing is trying and learning as you go.
No go forth... and BUILD!!!

Ok- it's supposed to be a through-deck carrier.
Through deck which way? Longitudilly- or Laterally?

There are Times, Sir, when men of good Conscience cannot blindly follow orders. You acknowledge their sentience, but ignore their personal liberties and freedoms. Order a man to hand over his child to the state? Not while I"m captain.
