Bragging Rights Contest - RogueWolf's Entry (WITHDRAWN)

Postby RogueWolf » Fri Mar 13, 2015 2:27 am

Here is what I'm gonna build for the Support/Aux craft Bragging Rights Contest - A Sphinx Workpod in 1/72 scale;

Here is my donor kit for my bash;

Quick shot of the Head/Pod cabin, I think it's too large for 1/72 so I'm gonna have to cut her down;

Pod cut down;

Size check, looks about right for a two man pod;

Not sure if I'm gonna build the cockpit as the canopy is blue :cry:

That's all I got so far;

Looking great so far!

Are you going to keep the cockpit glass blue, or try to recast in clear?

Clear would be awesome, however I have:
A. No Resin/rubber for casting, and
B. ZERO Casting experience :cry:
or
C. No Vacu-form machine...

But clear would be awesome. If I had clear, I'd build a cockpit.

Looks good so far, RW! Are one of those large vending machine eggs too small to work as a cockpit?

If I build at a bigger scale, say 1/35 or so one of those vending machin eggs might work but the shape is wrong for the Sphinx. The part I'm using still isn't right but it is prety close.

since easter is coming .. maybe some of those lil plastic eggs they put candy in might work .. specialy if ya can find them in clear .. they not much more then an inch or so long .. some split in half length wise other across the Dia for 2 ends ..

I recall seeing clear eggs/canisters in gumball machines...I suppose?

You know it's kinda cool in blue. Especially if you use a yellowish color scheme for the body like in the concept art.

I would still build a cockpit. You could always put a single LED in there :)
