by using hulls of different scales one of the problems is that the decks and window sizes are different

Image

so using a method that an other model maker uses I cut an filed out a larger opening and used rectangular brass to get the shape right

That's a cool idea for a build. I'm going to enjoy watching this one come together. :)

Thanks, It's probably going to end up taking more time and effort on this little build than I ever expected but I'm enjoying it and trying new things so what the hell

Oh, how I would love to play in 1:350... Interesting choice, using the Refit B/C deck. What scale is it? It looks like it came from a 1:537 Refit.

It is indeed, good eye there. 1:350 is not such a scary place although there is nowhere near as much GK extras as 1:1000 or 1:537

More Plastic cutting

Hole on the Bow for the navigation deflector and mount

Image

Image

holes in the nacelles started to be drilled to allow a view of the glow of the warp coils, not sure now much will be seen through the photoetch but there will be some shape to it

Image

also cut a section out the aft to extend the hull this meant I had to re-inforce the remaining parts with Plastruct

Computer time, spent a bit time setting up the designs to cut the addtional aft sections. This is just the top and sides

Image

The sheet styreen thin enough to cut will need at least 2 layers for strength so most sections get cut twice
