Mm! Me too! I can't quite claim credit for the idea completely though, there was a picture I remember from quite a while ago that had a similar set up.
The rails just clicks in all the right places for me. Very much a ship of exploration vs the E bridge for instance.

I've come across it dozens of times in the last two years. Google image search "starfleet bridge" and you won't miss it.
