This is the steps I took for the nacelles grills. The lights inside are a strip of blue LEDs.
I used round blue rods and plastic from a milk carton that was perfect for the diffused look I wanted.

I used a hair dryer to heat the ends so I could get the right curves.

I used magnets to connect to two halves. I also used aluminum tape for the electric connections instead of soldering. Works great and much easier. Plus it works good for blocking light leaks.

I had to use some stiff wire to get the front parts to stay in the proper shape.

The nacelles will be attached using magnets. they just snap into place.
There are two electrical circuits. The wires with plugs are for the running lights. The engine and bussard lights are connected thru the magnets, so when the nacelle is attached the circuit is connected.

I am not sure if I showed the process for the inside of the nacelles so here is a photo of the beginnings of the nacelles.

Wowzers!
There are Times, Sir, when men of good Conscience cannot blindly follow orders. You acknowledge their sentience, but ignore their personal liberties and freedoms. Order a man to hand over his child to the state? Not while I"m captain.

I continue to be astounded by this build.

Going to be hard to choose a winner at the end, but for sheer ambition and creativity, this thread has my vote.

This is what I used for the gold rings but the 1 ½ diameter instead. The 1 ¼ were too small.
