Sad News About Scotchyn

Postby Griffworks » Wed Sep 20, 2017 9:50 pm

It is with much sadness that I report that Scott / Scotchyn passed away sometime last night or earlier today. I don't know all the details, but it was likely health issues due to complications from chemo.

He was one Hell of a great guy and will be deeply missed. This Earth is darker for his passing.... :(

Hear hear. I had a chance to meet him in person at Wonderfest and I echo that he was a hell of a great guy. He will be missed around here.

Yea, darker. I remember him being an upbeat kind of guy.

Sad news indeed. He was a great guy for the short time I knew him with always a kind word to say about a new build.
I will miss his in depth reports on kits too.
There is no dark side of the moon really, matter of fact its all dark.

Ave, Scotchyn!
Taken before your time.
you were one funny bastard, and were earnest to a fault.

You had so many ideas too, always had ideas to improve a build at any scale.
(you introduced many polychora and irregular geometries, and even had ideas on how they might be illuminated :borg: )

Definitely he will be missed. Another star in the sky that faded away.

Great guy, great builder (and painter, and decaller), his threads of his builds are a great reference for everyone that will remain.

I can't find the words, having just read El Gato's PM today. I am devastated, but cannot delve into the particulars in a public forum.

Neither can I write what this very sweet man deserves. Not now at least. I only spoke to him a week or so ago, so the reality is too much to deal with.

I just forced myself to write -something- right now, out of love and respect for my friend Scott.
