Finally got to see the first episode - not a bad story, some of the special effects were a little cheesy IMO
New New York looked way to fake to me (just don't see Lady Liberty & Brooklyn Bridge looking that good in 450 years) they should have just stuck with a lesser known earth town, or even gone with a moon city.
Lets hope it makes it a few season

Re: The Orville
It gets much stronger after the first ep. By the most recent, the whole chemistry seems to fall into place really nicely.

Definitely gets better with each subsequent episode. And dammit, more models to build

I know, right? That ship actually is really beautiful, I find. I wouldn't mind having a 537 scale model of it (or 1400, if it's about the same size as 1701-E).el gato wrote:And dammit, more models to build

I mean, come on, she really is a beaut (and I'll bet she'd be fun to light, too):

Hopefully not too long to wait from Fantastic Plastic. And yes, in 1/1400 https://fantastic-plastic.com/orville_model.html

I haven't found any stats on the ship yet regarding size etc.

Re: The Orville
So at 1/1400 that would make the "real" ship a tad over 1,100 foot long. Roughly Refit E size then.
Is it just me or does it have a bit of a Blue Star look about it?

Re: The Orville
Someone on Twitter recently remarked it looks like someone mashed-up Voyager's front end with a B5 ship's back end.

Re: The Orville
To me the front end is more reminiscent of the Protector from Galaxy Quest
