Ok, so as there is no confusion as to when to start :

- When need to sign up and create a thread showing the unbuilt kit for June 14th.

- But the actual work on the model can not be started before June 15th.

Do I got that right?

I can't think of why I put it like that, other than wanting to make sure we had enough participants signed up before I officially launched the contest.

This is what happens when I try to be clever and post rules without a decent nights sleep. At least I had the good sense to put "first draft". ;)

I will "amend" the rules to allow folks to start as soon as they've signed up. The sign up deadline and thread creation deadline will now be one and the same.

I'm going to give folks as much room as possible to think of what they want to do, tinker, and if necessary, resubmit a new/improved build concept by the June 15th thread creation deadline. After that your entry is set in stone.

Clarification please... Would standard kits in alt universe livery be acceptable? One thread said yes, but the other says bashes, scratch, and lit.

I decided to go with specialist builds, due to the overwhelming preference in the recent poll. We had too few votes for OOB to be a separate category. I also felt it would be unfair to have OOB compete directly with specialist builds.

However, your question gave me food for thought. Ultimately, if folks want to take part with OOB builds and don't mind stiff competition from the other category, who am I to stop them? ;) By all means, post in the sign up thread and submit an Alt Universe OOB build if you wish.

I will amend the rules to allow for OOB builds as well. :innocent:

OOB builds have a fair chance I'd say. A lot of bashes ended up looking just like mix and match messes. A good clean OOB build can be a heck of a lot better than a kitbash that looks like playdough holding nacelles on a saucer.

I need a little clarification, with some 3D printed parts, can I print them now? or should I wait until the start date to do the printing?

also, with needing to cast some parts, same question, can it be done now, or wait until the start date?
