USS Republic NCC-1371 in 1/1000 WITHDRAWN

Post by bunnyast »

As there are no canon images I thought I would use my imagination for this long serving vessel. The time frame is that of the proposed Operation Retrieve in 2293. The ship (IMHO) would be older than the Constitution Class so we are talking about a vessel that has been in service for over 50 years at this point and would have had several refits and upgrades. I'm building it entirely from scratch using bits'n'bobs from the spare parts box (non Star Trek). I'll upload a pic later but the parts list includes;

1, Lots of plastic card
2, Weapons and Drop Tanks from a 1/24 Harrier kit.
3, The rear fuselage of a 1/72 A10.
4, Four cigarette lighters.
5, The end parts of two pens.
6, Two nasal inhalers.
7, Wheel spats from a 1/72 Junkers JU-52.
8, Two dressmaking pins.
9, Any other bits of junk I find on the way.

Here be the parts (I have left out some duplicates and added those X-wing, er, wings).

Yowza!

Are you making a model or a 21st Century Android? :P

Non-canon is fine: https://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/USS_R ... (NCC-1371)

After all, my contest entry is a Detroyat.

LOL, I'm using all (or parts there of) the bits to save on construction time and cost, this one is on a shoestring budget. I have it pictured in my mind and it will not look anything like a Baton Rouge class. I'll start with the nacelles, then the secondary hull and finally the primary hull as I'm still unsure how big to make it  .

Don't worry about the size. After it's been said that Size doesn't matter. :o

You just worry about making YOUR ship. And I look forward towards seeing the results of your creativity.

So after a couple of disasters with the primary hull and a family illness I'm afraid I'm going to have to withdraw my entry. I just do not have the time to finish this project to my satisfaction. :(

The one good thing to come out of it this is that I now have three rather decent warp nacelles as alternatives for the TOS/TMP style. Now all I need to to is reacquaint myself with my casting kit to make a batch :? .

I'm sorry to hear that bunnyast!
My condolences on the family illness, and my hopes that such improves.

And for what it's worth- there will be competitions in the future.

Thanks for the sympathy :D . Unfortunately the illness has affected the cook, dishwasher, cleaner, gardener and Nanny so I'm hoping she gets better soon ;) .
