Decal bonder?

Post by NCC1966 »

Is this a special formulated stuff or just the good old clear bottled in a fancy can?
Thanks,

Yan.

Glosscote does the same thing. Be careful though if the decals are ink jet printed which some aftermarket decals are. Water based acrylic clearcoats can cause the ink to run if they haven't been sealed before you get them. When in doubt use a lacquer based clearcoat and spray 2 or 3 light coats.

that's true, I've printed in normal Ink and now using laser - light coats before the final "heavy" coat

best to be safe

I only coat the decals before applying if they are garage kit. I use liquid decal film.

For applying the decals, gloss clear, decal, Future, dullcoat.

For Trek models I'll use a pearl coat glass clear.
