should be able to strip just as you would paint, depending on what you used for the clear coat

easy-off oven cleaner usually does the trick

I used a rattlecan Tamiya clear coat.

So with the oven cleaner, I would soak the model in a bath of that s*** for 24 hours; is that right?

something like that, if you can get it down there
most likely it won't have to stay on fr a full 24 hours, and fume free my A$$ - take that outside, well ventilated is REQUIRED
give it 10-20 minutes, try and see how much it takes off - reapply as needed

i've used this as well - but be careful it can make resin kits soft

I enjoy the fresh orange smell of this one

I would suggest Simple Green, but it's really only available in the US and Canada, otherwise you're paying a fortune for it. It's probably similar to that citrus stuff, but I know first hand it doesn't soften resin. I can try to see what the cost would be if I were to get it and ship it as opposed to you going through a retailer, but I bet it won't be worth it. Also there's the whole risk of it being damaged and leaking.

It has trouble striping primer completely, but I think even Easy Off can't completely get rid of primer.

Thanks for the kind offer, DefiantClient, but it isn't a good idea to send chemicals overseas via mail. It's probably illegal, anyway. As luck would have it, one of my local hardware stores sells products of that brand. What am I looking for, exactly; a cleaner or a paint stripper? Ooh! They're expanding!!! It's a cleaner and it strips paint without harming your plastic. I've used it to clean my sink. I've had miniatures in "the soup" for months before with no damage. Don't do that though unless you like perma-pine smelling stuff. You only need to keep it in there for a day or two just to be sure. I also used it to clean mold release off my resin. It's an amazing product.

I've used Super Clean myself. Walmart sells it in a squirt bottle. Removes enamel paint in a few hours although I usually let it go overnight. Will also remove chrome plating. Never soaked resin in it though. Make sure to wash your hands quick if you get any on ya.

The good thing about Simple Green is that it's not toxic and you can get as much on your hands as you want.

Definitely needs to soak longer though, which is why I usually give it a couple days to strip paint. You just need to scrub with it to get rid of mold release.
