AA/DST 1:10 Scale Borg Queen scratch build

Postby Atlanthia » Mon Sep 07, 2015 12:50 am

This will hopefully be a fully articulated action figure, including the head, in scale with all the other AA/DST range, with removable Head and shoulders with spine.

:borg2: :borg:
The rest of the collective will need to know about this :D
Outstanding work, you've raised the bar with this.
Will the 'tubes-lift' be a thing? (the tube-harness that lowered the Krige Queen... creepy)
will there be interchangeable 'assimilation tubules' for the arms?
is there that 'we've adapted' colored plastic for the chest?
this looks great

I hope you take some inspiration from Icheb in Renegades,
and make a figure based somewhat on that (in your style, it'd look even better)
maybe less influence by Tron, and more geiger for Icheb hehehe

thanks for sharing :D

Again, my thanks to you. This figure will be just the figure as you see it in the build, with detachable head and shoulders etc. bt if someone wanted to add the 'tubes lift' it would not be difficult to do. As with all my pieces, I produce them to sell so I have to always compromise between what would be awesome and what would be great but achievable for a certain price. People generally expect to pay a little more for a premium, limited edition, hand made product but I don't like to pass any more cost on to the buyer than is absolutely necessary. Hope that answers your queries
Regards,
Darren

Absolutely awe inspiring work there! I can't wait to see the finished product. Do you have any more of your excellent work to show off to us?

I do a lot of Space 1999 stuff as well but here is not the place for it.

Atlanthia
please feel free to share all kinds of sci-fi and misc stuff anywhere you'd like ---
we're all fans of Sci-Fi after all
to keep things easy for cross-posting (to prevent "Cross-Posting Fatigue") you could keep all your stuff under one thread, or as many as you'd like: it could go under general or misc, or anywhere you'd care to share a link to that eyecandy :D
(does that mean maybe also some Capn' Scarlet, Stingray, Thunderbirds |the actual good one, the original hehe| or subjects from the Grim Dark Future of Rogue Trader  )...

Though I digress;
Thanks for the swift response -
I've seen some of your translucent work and clear plastics, so wondered how you'd achieve that "adapted borg shield" look (again, there's a lot of different appearances there between Early TNG, ST:Voy, and ST:FC) in a clear plastic or translucent finish... it'd be a challenge for sure.

I will definitely be relaying this to the rest of the collective :borg:

PS, Thanks for acurising B'lanna's sculpt - a lot of impressions don't have near the likeness of Roxann Dawson as this one does :D
I remember seeing a Robert Beltran Doll and thinking: "that's not even close" hehe, a lot of the merc. for ST:V didn't quite resemble what we saw on screen - but, being as rare as Trek stuff is at the best of times hehe...

What he said. I'm not a figure or set builder builder, I don't have that aptitude, so I enjoy seeing the work of those who can. Besides, as I'm sure you've seen from other threads, we have a few who also do figure sculpting and modification. Greyrider comes to mind, but there's also Nanjin, Lord Mudd and pengbuzz

^This

And talk about what is almost becoming a lost art, too, in an era of 3-d scanning and printing. It's really nice to see someone with that kind of talent that can create a figure from scratch, that looks like the character they are portraying! :)

I wouldn't mind seeing some of the Space 1999 stuff myself.
