USS DISCOVERY vs TOS E THOUGHTS

For everything Star Trek related, that isn't covered by the other forums.

Although the bridge is apparently on the bottom of the saucer. Gene Rodenberry rolls in his grave.

If they bring out a kit of it, just lip it over and then it might make sense. I agree that from what I have seen, I like this ship. The Discovery not so much....

I did peruse the pages since I left. Out of all of this, all I got from it was someone calling the D: Fat!

FAT!

She's a sweet curvy girl who can move and packs a punch. ;)

Fat guy, on a little bike.

Huge sideways elliptical saucer

Stubby little engineering section

itty bitty nacelles

That ship is a mess of nonsensical proportions.

It grows on one. I'm not sure I liked it at first. I do now.

Ha at this point I'm not sure if you mean the Discovery, the Shenzhou, or the E-D

Well, I like the Ent-D less, as time goes on. The Excelsior and Ent-B have been growing on me, but I'm hoping I can get a shot, for that.

The Shenzhou looks like a Rockin' lost era ship. Kind of a Centaur done right. I'm undecided on the Discovery, until I see more of it.

Hated the D when it first came out. Love it now

Ha. For me it was the only Enterprise I liked less after building one. Compared to the others it just seems so slow and awkward and ill proportioned.

I harken back to that quote from Kirk about "engines the size of walnuts." That spoke to raw power and impossibly advanced technologies. The curves speak to grace and beauty, art as function. Probert was on to something with the design of the D
