How desirable are the original waves of Fasa Trek miniatures from the early '80s (and the old Ship Recognition Manuals, too, for that matter)?
I know I have a small number of them that I haven't looked at in about a decade and are on my list of "need to clear out stuff I don't use/access/enjoy anymore".
Thanks in advance!

Have the manuals & some of the books myself - "back in the day" I didn't even know they had the miniaturesTesral wrote:I have them all. The manuals that is.
But if I knew they existed I would have been all over them

Re: Probably a dumb question, but...
I saw the TMP Enterprise and Reliant at the first convention I ever went to (waaaaay back in 1983) and started getting them since there wasn't a kit of the Reliant (for decades!) and just bought the ones I liked until I got tired of trying to paint the tiny things and started scratch-building/kit bashing instead.
I know I have the two above, the NX-2000, Klingon BOP and some Romulan ships. I'll put up a full list as soon as I unearth them but I didn't know if they were really sought after or not. Sounds like it depends

To me they were the original "Pokemon".... Gotta Get 'em all! but now as I'm older I'm looking for them in a larger scale.

I had a few, painted them and everything. Who knows what happened to them. Probably got vleared out by my parents after I moved away to college

Re: Probably a dumb question, but...
i would say the miniatures are highly sought-after. especially if they are in their original, unopened packaging.
i would try ebay and use various search terms. also, try star ranger miniature forums [i don't have the url, but you should be able to find it on google], which i think is still viewed as the mini starship mecca.
keep in mind three groups might the ships;
the collector = more mint = more $$$.
the gamer = bragging rights = not as much return.
gaming/modeler/kit basher of some kind, if the parts are damaged.
january always used to be a good time for selling when i was selling on ebay back in the day. xmas never saw good results, unless you were a buyer. that's going back 10 years though, so i don't know how the landscape has changed now.
