Klingons and Cardassians and Romulans (oh my) in 1:7000

Postby Ender » Sun Sep 20, 2015 4:00 am

Previously, I posted some Cardassians and Klingons I was working on. They can be found on this thread.

http://www.allscaletrek.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2565

I am happy to say, I finally got the ships cast and painted. Here are the klingons.

Image

They are the (from left to right): Kel'Var destroyer, Bortas battlecruiser, Qa'cheng Frigate, Goarlis Cruiser, Keth Ke Se Battlecruiser, B'rel escort (Romando), Riskadh heavy destroyer, and Negh'Var. They fit well with the Micro Machine Vor'cha:

For the Cardassians, we have the following:

From left to right, they are the Kheldon (Studio Bergstrom), Sartan frigate, Legate destroyer, Braelek battleship, Damar frigate, Vasad destroyer, Rasilak cruiser/battlecruiser, and Galor (Studio Bergstrom). This creates a nice Cardassian fleet.

I have also previously posted some Romulans painted in the TNG fashion. The Romulan ships also had some additional parts which can upgrade them to heavy or command variants (using Starfleet Battles/Command terminology). Here are the ships painted according to SFB Romulan schemas.

Compared to the orginals (below), they add engine pods and a bridge that connects the engines on the underside.

More pictures on my blog (the Klingons and Cardassians will be up in a couple of days). Again any comments or criticisms are appreciated. Enjoy.

Top stuff!
For folks curious about whether these Ender (that rhymes  ) creations
are near scale with the Tactics/ST:AW ships - they're in scale with the AW/Micromachines Vor-Cha, so they're mighty close to scale.
the klingon stuff is great - it'll fit in nicely for that 'lost' era between TMP and the Ent C.
there might be some locals wanting to obtain those so as to recreate scenarios from
"StarTrek: Klingon Academy" the game hehe

Cardassian fans will find the Ender stuff slightly smaller - however,
that lets you field more on the table (since they tend to move in squadrons etc, not so bad :D )
and for some of the other large end craft - theres OS models or the Eaglemoss stuff which compliment nicely.
The smaller Hideki and other scout craft will work on squadron bases for the AW stuff -
it'll be nice to see these with the Breen and Jem-Hadar fleets folks have been collecting.

The romulans are nice, being some smaller destroyer-scaled craft for the ST:AW players.
the talon is easily a standout - to scale with the 1:5000 defiant
(or, proper scaled defiant as opposed to that oversized variant from Tactics/ST:AW)
maybe we'll see a craft inspired by the griffin class or the raptor class? (they're difficult to find near the 1:5000 scale)

for the larger romulan craft,
it's a shame they're not a fraction bigger so as to be in scale with the Dragohawk
or the Hallmark Warbird, or the Eaglemoss Valdore,
as they'd be awesome similarly scaled to say the
Furuta Ent-C and that size range (as there's not many romulan options in that size range).
as they presently stand, they make the Borg Tetrahedron look MASSIVE next to them, let alone the Warp Models or WizKids Borg Cube itself hehe

Top work as ever Ender!
:borg: maybe we'll see some stuff for the Collective?
:borg2:

Those are some fantastic looking miniatures. I thought the Rasilak class was a frigate though. Where did you get the references for it?

Fantastic! The paint job on these is exceptionally well done.

Most of the ideas for the ships came from either the Starship Schematics website (http://www.shipschematics.net/) or from the STSCTS Home page http://www.tacticalstarshipcombat.com/FASA/STSTCS%20Home%20Page.htm.

I tried to choose ships which were relatively consistent with each other in design aesthetic. I took some liberties as to the sizes of the ships to fit some holes in the fleet. The Rasilak was upscaled to fit a perceived hole in the Cardassian fleet for a ship between a cruiser and a dreadnought/battleship in size an power. If there is a problem with the naming, I can change it (it will be just like the B'rel and K'vort).

These are your ships. Don't change anything because someone on the internet said it should be one way when you chose another. I like your reasoning. Leave it as is.

Such enjoyable creativity.
