Re: Skyscrapers to starships

indeed, you'd probably like Battlefleet Gothic then - those are basically flying buildings :D starships, especially 'generation ships' are very much like Aircraft Carrier or larger mobile cities. I'm in awe of how aircraft carriers, oil rigs, and large buildings function on earth, let alone spacecra...

Re: In Defense of Weathering Starfleet Vessels

cool perspectives; I, much to the applause of model-makers everywhere I suspect, think this is a perfect excuse to buy more plasticrack! buy a few models - do one 'factory fresh', one 'battledamaged', and a couple with different "space wear-n-tear" do a few to recreate that ready-roo...

Re: Enterprise D Saucer Deflector

awesome stuff, so, like a Voyager style deflector for the Saucer-Sep section, and maybe a different topology for the stardrive section. I'm partial to the Probert concept C/D and the Future D, or the Chariot-Class Atolm stardrive (front end at least). integral 'defiant-style'/'prometheus A section&q...

Re: Shaw's artistic endeavors

sweet! more Shaw schematics, they'll make for an excellent period-appropriate "MasterScreenDisplay" when all the subsystems are filled in, though as a general fitout it's great for TrekRPG'ing. I like the sheer amount of detail collated all in the one spot as the borg would say, 'yoink&quo...

Re: FASA D-18F Gull Destroyer

awesome, a gull variant,
the alternate battle-bridge/nose-cone area is a nice touch,
as is the 'Q-Ship' increased armament...
that's a lot of lateral and rearward firepower, perhaps the ship's command structure was sick of sneak attacks?

Re: Lensman

Yeah, lensman arc is some great Sci-Fi. they seem to use a theory of pre-suppositionalism/predeterminism or superdeterminism, and of course, the recurrent 'eugenics' - which was all the rage back then  a similar eugenics theme is in DUNE, the "kwisatz haderach" etc... compatibilism, c...

Re: FASA USS Chicago, NCC2738 - Loknar-class Frigate

neat!
this is awesome to see the buildup,
and the nudie bussard collector/inside the nacelle too.

will it light up, or be a static bussard with the clear dome?
either way, it will look awesome.
