Re: Discovery USS Enterprise

Re: Spindrift from Land of the Giants by Polar Lights

neat!
chipper will look great after a light ink 'drybrush' and some stadler ink-pen for the eyes,
the amount of detail you can cram into 1:72 is outstanding!

neat!
you're returning to this awesome project.

as to lighting, indeed.
there's how-to's at Franlab, ThisWeekInTech, Ben Heck's Wonderlab,
and Adam Savage's workshop at Tested.

AST-er "StarchWrecked" has a lot of awesome how-to guides as well

Re: Klingon kitbash - advanced BoP

I like the neck and aft section/wing configuration of "Sleek variant 2" with the nose and top of aft-section of "Variant 1" if you could somehow merge the top of the sleek-bridge-nose with the 'hammerhead' nose... that'd be perfect. it's all awesome though; they look like customi...

Re: A discussion of model scales

thanks for spinning this off into its own tangent outright, Kratok, a great hypothetical as ever. I likewise ponder why 'the sacred scale' ~1:2500 and 1:72 scale, are such popular scale ballparks for models. it's a universally popular scale for many subjects, and it's not necessarily because the con...

Re: Prepare to be Assimilated... 2500 Canon Borg Vessels!

indeed, by the unimatrix! look at that
:borg2:
to see this come together, now I'm torn.
do I get the 1:1400 (which sits nice next to the "1:4848 cube")
or, 1:2500, as it will be easier to flatpack and transport etc.

I'm already stocking up on APEC-5/OHT and decal paper...

Re: Bringing back the Wants List

okeedoke; there's a few different options but luckily, a lot of the wish-list has been addressed, such that now the rommies and tholians are gone from it (for the moment). 1:2500 Premellian Battlecruiser (from TNG), JemHadar Transport 2 (DS9) <--- I think the nacelles and the bridge are different bu...

neat!
after seeing the beginnings of a Queen's Octahedron being made,
I started work on the center-ball (a D23 net I think) on decal paper etc...

that said, it'd be neat to see the one for 2500, clear-able so as to be light-up

Re: Pegasus War of the Worlds Martian War Machine

ave! it's never easy to say goodbye to locals from the local-model-club. it's a beautiful kit, so I recommend building it as intended. that said, a few gundam threads show how it can be made into a war-walker, Gundam-style/Macross & battletech style hehe. I've also seen it made into a 'time-ship...

Re: Spindrift from Land of the Giants by Polar Lights

precisely! the leopard-print is to distract from the airlock-concertina (which, concertina buses seemed so much cooler hehe). those doors are 'spot' on  I hope you magnetize the topside, so as you can remove the 'lid', and see inside the final model too - much like the Jupiter LiS model allows ...
