Re: RIP Lenny

My heart breaks for you. My youngest daughter attended college in a very rural, very hilly and heavily forested area. While climbing one of the smaller summits one day, she heard a sound, and saw a TINY tabby kitten up in a tree, too afraid to get down on its own. She climbed the tree, brought it do...

Re: Social Media and AST

It's interesting that this should be an issue. Let me clarify: Another aspect is that when I do a Google image search for more reference materials for a build, more times than not, a posted picture, following the usual vendor offerings, lists a pic from allscaletrek.com. This happened more often be...

Re: 2015 No Looping image rule

Actually, I was not aware of this rule either. Mophius, I don't think you have to apologize - no scolding going on here. Xen is just trying to level the field, and explain why he has made a few changes. Griff, I dont really recall much here in the way of animated GIFs either, but there must h...

Closing this one down.

Griff, El Gato, Dr Corsa - many thanks. I hope that each of you is happy with what you receive(d). Thanks for helping me to give at least some of these a good home, and enjoy!

Re: Clear resin casting recommendation

Agreed.

Like I said, I’ve never actually gotten around to trying this, so can’t guarantee it would work. But it would be a low cost, low toxicity option. Might be worth playing around with it and finding out.

Good luck!

Re: Clear resin casting recommendation

I've been tempted to try this myself, and held off for exactly the same reasons you have. The warnings about the SmoothOn clear resins gave me second thoughts. I've never got around to doing it, but was moving in the direction of trying some of the clear acrylic resins that they sell for encapsulati...

Re: [REQ] New sub-forum

Ta-Da! Agreed, there are places here where these tips could be (and have been) posted. But, as mophius stated, there are also enough here already that giving them their own home makes sense. It is a subset of the modeling spectrum that is growing in popularity, so let's make it easier for folks to ...

Re: Hutzel Class

Next installment. Here are the basic components of the model before the final coat of primer. Components.JPG I admit that I used t be a bit of a rivet counter, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve become less afraid to modify my builds a little. Especially if it addresses a deficiency or illogical characte...
