Re: 1/1000 TOS Fitting Rage

Yeah. The parts fit on both the 1/1000 TOS Enterprise and the D-7 is not good.

Re: Enterprise refit - first Trek kit in a while

The inboard grills on the Refit in ST:TMP glow purple. The Ent-A in "Undiscovered Country" has a blue glow effect in some scenes, I think. Those are the only examples I'm really sure of without going back at looking at the movies. My personal preference is for a blue effect.

Re: Enterprise refit - first Trek kit in a while

Latest update: Got my order from Starshipmodeler.com. Work continues on the nacelles. Will need to finish gloss coating everything and then start decaling. 20170314_090516.jpg Hey Cosmotiger, what is the part number and manufacturer of that decal set? Do you have a direct web link to it? It is a Mo...

Re: K'T'inga by Ugh Models

When you look closely at the references, you see all the variations and complexities in the K't'inga paint scheme. There's a lot going on there. I'm interested in seeing how this all works!

Re: Enterprise refit - first Trek kit in a while

I farted around with the nacelles a little today. I think I'm loosing my enthusiasm for this build. I still want to build a movie Enterprise in 1/1000, but I'm starting to question whether covering the entire ship with decals is are the best way to replicate the aztec pattern. Obviously, using somet...

Re: Enterprise refit - first Trek kit in a while

I've been using Solvaset quite a bit, but it hadn't occurred to me to poke the bubbles and let it get underneath. I'll give that a try. @trekriffic: ramble all you like, I'm always open to hearing about someone else's approach to the same issues. And using Future before doing decal touchups was new ...

Re: Enterprise refit - first Trek kit in a while

I got the secondary hull and the neck completed, but then I went on vacation. I hope to get some more work done this weekend. This is the first time I've done a model with full aztec "wallpaper" decals. It's not that I'm one of those people that hates dealing with decals, but I am somewhat...

Re: K'T'inga by Ugh Models

Wow, this should be amazing once it's finished. All those modifications are going to add a lot to what is already a nice looking kit.

Re: Enterprise refit - first Trek kit in a while

I'm curious to know - did you glue the pieces together or are you leaving them "snapped"? I glue everything, and I modify the parts to remove the snap feature. I bore out the holes so the pegs fit loosely rather than snap, or trim off the locking tabs. I find it improves the fit, eliminat...
