Re: 1/1400 AMT Enterprise-C (So it begins)

I only got one section done before my hand gave out from holding the Dremel. (If any one knows of a smaller handpiece, lemme know as I could certainly use it instead of that five pound Dremel!) Get yourself a flex shaft attachment like the one in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6ByDVSO...

Re: Oberth Cutaway

This poster gets away with it because it upsizes it, with a length of 148.77 m. If we're honest, those extra 28.77 metres really wouldn't make a difference. Like you said, there's absolutely no way turbolifts, their shafts, and their mechanisms could fit in those nacelle pylons. The Oberth -class w...

Re: Clear resin casting recommendation

I got the idea of using Oomoo from a couple of YouTube vids by Kenny Conklin at SciFiantasy, where he was using it to cast a solid (not clear) part for the Vor'Cha -class cruiser. He made it look actually pretty simple, so I thought it would be a good starting point for clear parts. But, like I said...

Dominion v Borg

Reading Hossfly72's V'Ger = Borg thread reminded me of this particular speculative fan-favourite that routinely makes the rounds of Trek boards: Who would win in a war, the Borg or the Dominion? Here's my take. The fact is, there's actually expetionally little information available on both to make a...

Re: Was V'ger supposed to be "proto"-Borg?

What if Decker WAS the biological addition? And with all human activities, there is always a chance that our weaknesses come out. Maybe V'ger went home and the machine aliens decided they need some biologic influence? Wouldn't hold any water, I'm afraid. As per Voyager , the Borg have been around i...

Re: Clear resin casting recommendation

Thanks, lads.

I was after more of a clear resin brand recommendation to use with the Oomoo 30 moulds, though ... ;)
