Re: Why I'm Not a Train Modeler

All joking aside, I don't know how it works out elsewhere but I have noticed that as the bricks and mortar real world model shops disappear from our towns and cities, it is only the model railway stores that seem to be surviving. Essentially the only model shops now left in Yorkshire are either mode...

Re: Why I'm Not a Train Modeler

Trains would be a might hard in Sacred Scale. Damn straight. The Hasegawa 1/1500 kit of the Arcadia, from the Captain Harlock anime, included a model (if you can call it that) of "space train" Galaxy Express 999 http://www.1999.co.jp/itbig19/10198919b3.jpg http://www.1999.co.jp/itbig19/10...

Something like this might be the answer http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Folding-Picnic-Table-Heavy-Duty-Adjustable-Market-BBQ-Portable-Dinning-Garden-/351623876835?_trksid=p2349526.m2548.l4275 I have something similar, albeit not used for modelling. It is very sturdy and folds away and is easily stored be...

Re: To Paint Then Build or Build Then Paint?

I have a 1/500 Yamato ship I want to build soon and, from what I read about the model, it will be an excellent build Is that the version from the Yamato 2199 remake series https://hlj.com/product/BAN986230 or the earlier movie version release https://hlj.com/product/BAN965514 or the even earlier se...

HPs which printing head is attached to the ink cartridge — that makes it still more expensive and subject to constant clogging. I have heard from people that owns Epsons that the system is way better (heads separate from ink) beside the fact that you can use those cool and cheap ink bulk feeding I ...

Re: So, Trump. What now?

It boils down to who is the least worse choice. Or who is it that you cannot stand the thought of being PM on Friday and voting tactically. That is why there is a good deal of noise being directed to UKIP voters to vote Conservative in order to keep Comrade Corbyn (and car crash Abbot) out. There ha...

Re: To Paint Then Build or Build Then Paint?

Generally I will build first and then paint. For the reasons already given, building first you can then do a good job of the filling, sanding and cleaning up to prepare the surface for painting. However, depending on the subject I will usually build in sub-assemblies so if we were talking about, say...

Did ya know? In the immortal words of Sargent Schultz http://s2.quickmeme.com/img/1b/1bd653ca7760b8bb57c60797e773b15b4c6a92ea476e60e91e2e1e264cd5d43f.jpg Seriously though on printer ink, I have found ink jet printers at prices that were cheaper than buying a set of replacement ink cartridges. It was...

Re: Steppin' out

There are always pre-finished models as an alternative to building and painting. Some are a bit of a chore in finding these days such as the Johnny Lightning "Legends" series or the Furuta and Konami models. But the F0Toys range and the Eaglemoss collection are pretty much widely available...

Re: Why I'm Not a Train Modeler

I used to have one of those Goodyear blimps! Wonder what happened to it? I parted with my electric trains years ago. Just lost interest. However, whilst I am certainly not into model railroad generally, I have collected quite a few of the Amercom and Del Prado 1/160 scale engines. Main reason for th...
