Re: 1/1400 AMT Enterprise-C (So it begins)

Hey, just a little reminder: the impulce ingine on Ent-C was blue! All another ambassador class ships had a normal orange impulce. Greeting, Michael That always bugged me and I flat out ignored that when I made mine. I convinced myself that was some weird low power setting due to the damage it had ...

Re: 1/1400 AMT Enterprise-C (So it begins)

Ding, Nice drawings MSgt! Thanks! I got some advice about the nacelle's blue lights being wired in parallel instead of in series - so they will have to be reworked a bit. What size fibers are you planing on for the Nav/Anti-Colision lights? Origanally I was going to use some 1.8mm "butterfly&qu...

Re: Dingbat's Ambassador

Dingbat, great! I found your build thread! While I am going to use some excess 3mm LEDs I have for the engine lights, the strips will work fine. Just a thought, since you didn't show them powered, have you tested the strip to see if it is too much light/brightness? The strip looks densely packed wit...

Re: 1/1400 AMT Enterprise-C (So it begins)

Somewhere around this pile I have set of micro micro files, nano files if you will a total of about 3 inches long. Of course the things are AWOL. Those would be great for windows (when you can find them). I found a similar file set on Micro Mark. Not the exact same, a bit better as it has a finger ...

Re: 1/1400 AMT Enterprise-C (So it begins)

Thanks, Dingbat! While I used the Dremel and flex shaft, the 0.7mm, and 0.5mm burs, 95 percent of the windows worked beautifully. Oh, don’t worry! I have plenty of “kidney beans” for my windows, too! :D The file did work out well enough, (I wish it was the same shape as the windows :D ) except on th...

Re: 1/1400 AMT Enterprise-C (So it begins)

Mornin, ALL! I decide not to do a wholesale fix of the windows and decided on just fixing the offending one. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4755/28186738489_378c02f549_c.jpg 20180124_191948 So I used PPP to fill it. I taped it off to try and minimize the mess. I also filled in the sensor band around...

Re: 1/1400 AMT Enterprise-C (So it begins)

I want a lower tax bracket. Don't we all?! Sigh. @Dingbat, I am gonna fix that one extra tall conference room (Observation room?) window and redrill it; rather than fix all of them. I put some Perfect Plastic Putty in that and am waiting for it to dry. Since I had the PPP out, I puttied another sec...

Re: 1/1400 AMT Enterprise-C - Aw nuts!

Well....crap! I got my 0.50mm burs in and started working on the B/C deck windows. Things were progressing well, but I should have listened to my inner modeler saying "Never do tasks that require fine motor skills when you are tired" but I didn't. Now I am gonna have to pay "stupid ta...
