Re: There will be damage!!!

Nice collection. Looks like the DVD bin at Wallmart. Like others have said if you can drive them over yourself you should.

Re: Spindrift from Land of the Giants by Polar Lights

Looking Good, Trekriffic! Loving the detail! Where do you get your supplies for scratch building stuff? LHS or Amazon? I'm thinking I should get acquainted with other sources as Hobby Town is more like Ghost Town for modelers. Keep going! This is looking great! Steve I used to get my styrene strips...

OK. Time for another update... Not sure what this monitor is useful for but it flashes with a red glow while the engine is operating: https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4734/24129531027_8f52726680.jpg lotlg2 by trekriffic , on Flickr I used strip styrene to make my own replica for installation between t...

Re: Spindrift from Land of the Giants by Polar Lights

Here we go... on to the passenger comm stations.... I used styrene sheet and round tubing to scratch build the passenger communication stations. The discs are slightly oversized which was fine since I planned to sand them down to match the circumference of the little shrouds: https://farm5.staticfli...

outstanding attention to detail.

Thanks koby. Yeah, I have to make sure to avoid coffee and swig a glass or two of wine before I get started so I can keep steady.

Re: Spindrift from Land of the Giants by Polar Lights

Time for a Giant update I think... The cockpit sidewalls were painted. I like the greenish gray tone of Light Sea Gray. It went on nice and smooth with a brush. Gotta love a fresh bottle of paint: https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4525/38241117166_bd4e3439c9_b.jpg Cockpit Sidewalls Painted by trekriffi...

Re: 1/1400 AMT Enterprise-C (So it begins)

Good start, I'd say! As for not being happy with the windows: are you going to fill them? With what, something like dental or nail acrylic? I ask, because you can — of course — ultimately clean up the shapes and sizes by masking them for the final paint job, so I wouldn't worry too about them not b...

Re: The Orville Ships & Lengths

Marc, this is an interesting read and you posit an interesting hypothesis on the size of the ship. However, after reading through the blog, the bloggers direct comparison of the decks to the Voyager seem a little off. The door sizes and subsequent desk height would seem to indicate the Orville is n...

Re: Starcraft Models new releases and Holiday Sale

Dennis sent me the Axanar Catalog awhile back. The Ares is listed at $85.00. Looks to be a nice kit. Made to be lit. Hollow with clear parts. I'd send you the catalog Steve but the site won't let me attach pdf files. If you PM me your email I can try emailing it to you.
